E³UDRES² promotes the development of small and medium-sized cities and their rural environments into smart and sustainable European regions and shapes a prosperous future with the best possible quality of life for self-determined people in a progressive European society. E³UDRES² co-creates outstanding ideas and concepts for future universities, integrates challenge-based education, mission-oriented research, human-centred innovation as well as open and engaged knowledge exchange as interrelated core areas and establishes an exemplary multi-university campus across Europe.
E³UDRES² is searching for your ideas for further development and as a starting point for fruitful discussions. In addition to scientific contributions, any concepts, provocative ideas and innovative approaches are very welcome!
What are we looking for?
We want your concepts / talks / presentations / posters / videos / performances etc. on one of the following topics:
• This is the Future University 2030!
How does your ideal future university look like? Who is involved, how is it organized?
• My Smart and Sustainable Region
How can any region be transformed into a smart and sustainable one? What is the required network of actors, etc.?
Which formats will be accepted?
Any contribution should be prepared for a hybrid setting, i.e. in presence and / or digital. The format can be chosen from two options:
- Inspiring Idea (time limit of 5 minutes)
- Scientific talk / best practice (time limit of 15 minutes)
Please send an abstract of your concept or idea to email@example.com including info about your preferred setting (presentation in presence / digital) and format (inspiring idea / scientific talk). We ask you to stick to a maximum length of one page for the abstract.
The most promising contributions will be selected and presented at the E³UDRES² Opening Symposium at St. Pölten University Of Applied Sciences in Austria, on March 22nd / 23rd 2021. All accepted contributions will be notified by February 28th 2021 and will be available through open access on the E³UDRES² website.
Any questions? Don’t hesitate do get in touch via firstname.lastname@example.org .
Submissions are open until January 31st, 2021.
- Who can make submissions to the E³UDRES² Call for Ideas?
Anyone can submit to the Call for Ideas – no matter if you are student, member of university staff, researcher or citizen. There’s no limits!
- What will the E³UDRES² Opening Symposium look like?
The Opening Symposium is planned to take place on-site at St. Pölten University Of Applied Sciences on March 22 and 23, 2021. The slots for presentations of your concepts will most likely be on day two (March 23rd). If Covid-19 regulations allow events on-site, the symposium will be held in the great hall at STPUAS, alternatively there’s an online and / or hybrid event planned.
- I would like to submit, but given the current situation do not like to attend any on-site events. Can I still participate?
Of course! Just inform us about your preferred setting (on-site / online) when submitting your ideas and concepts. An online presentation of the concepts will be possible in any case, even if the event itself takes place on site.
- Will there be an award for the best submissions?
The E³UDRES² Call for Ideas is not intended as a competition in which something can be won. We want to discuss inspiring ideas and create incentives to think. There will be no prizes for the best submissions – except for a few minutes of fame on stage. 😉
- Who will select the best submissions?
The submissions will be reviewed and discussed by a jury consisting of representatives from the participating E³UDRES² universities and finally the best ones will be selected.
